"KoRnify"? What
was I, high?
That's pretty much just another
result of that poser phase I told you about. I can't say I'm proud of it. I
think I mainly threw KoRn into the mix, because I didn't know what to say I
listened to when people asked, and a friend of mine was really into KoRn at
the time. Not sure if she still is, but in any case, this probably seemed
like a really good idea at the time.
You'll notice the "9999" in the
third panel, along with accompanying animation. That was stolen almost
directly from 8-bit Theatre. I hadn't actually started reading that until
two years later, but I had seen the flash animation on Newgrounds. I liked
that joke quite a lot. I think I may have used it somewhere else, as well.
In some form or another. Can't remember where, though.
I couldn't think of anything to
put in the last panel for the "ality", but I knew I didn't want it to be
something that already existed. This was the sordid result.
I really enjoy that one sprite of
Kirby jumping at Link from behind, up there. Kirby is fun to use, because
he's so... so... dynamic. He's got so many sprites to use, and I only
used ones from Kirby's Super Star for this comic. There are tons more that
got left out of the mix. I think my favorite sprites of him that I used were
the ones of him looking under the designated ground to talk to me, and of
him peeking around the corner of the building when he made his second
entrance. They show one of Kirby's sprites' top qualities: they can interact
with the world you place them in. |
